Their Mission is to provide food assistance, practical life solutions, and resources to those who are food insecure. They work to reduce food insecurity and promote nutritional health. They are also committed to enriching the lives of individuals by means of teaching and training. These tools will equip them with the necessary life skills needed for success.
They are currently serving over 17,000 individuals each month.
Their food distribution operation operates three times a week for most families and four days a week for those in urgent need, ensuring that no one goes hungry.
Last year, a staggering 47% of Camden's population experienced food insecurity.
Shockingly, 22% of children in South Jersey face the daily struggle of hunger.
LMOI distributes over 203,000 pounds of food monthly to combat these statistics.
Camden's status as a top food desert in New Jersey means that access to nutritious and affordable food is severely limited. Food pantries like theirs are indispensable in bridging this gap and providing essential support to our neighbors in need.
