Who We Are
For more than 40 years, Family Promise Montco PA (formerly Inter-Faith Housing Alliance) has partnered with religious congregations, dedicated volunteers, and generous donors to create positive outcomes for Montgomery County families experiencing poverty and homelessness. The services we offer – emergency food relief; emergency, transitional, and supportive housing; and aftercare – help families to preserve their dignity and work toward or maintain self-sufficiency.
Families living in poverty are under constant stress. Hunger, scarcity, and housing insecurity caused by poverty often lead to chronic trauma. Under these conditions, families are ill-equipped to access services that could lead to self-sufficiency. By stabilizing a family’s situation and providing critical services that support movement toward self-sufficiency, Family Promise works to mitigate the effects of homelessness and hunger on the children and families we serve.
We were recognized in 2014 as a Zone of Peace by the Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia for our efforts to address root causes of violence: poverty, homelessness, hunger, and family instability. The Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce recognized us as the 2014 Humanitarian Organization of the Year. This award is reserved for organizations that make significant contributions to the community using an innovative approach to service delivery.

What We Do
Family Promise Montco PA (formerly Inter-Faith Housing Alliance) has been engaging the community to help Montgomery County families that are experiencing poverty and homelessness since 1982. We partner with local congregations, dedicated volunteers, and generous donors to prevent and resolve homelessness and hunger in our own backyard.
We provide emergency food relief at the Family Promise Food Pantry in Abington and emergency, transitional, and supportive housing programs for families with children at sites in Ambler and Lansdale. Families in housing programs receive intensive case management and supportive services.
