Who We Are

Brent’s Place provides “safe-clean” home-like apartments and individualized programs that promote hope and healing to families who have loved ones with a life-threatening illness.

The average stay for one of our families is over 100 days, which means months separated from family, friends, pets, and the comforts of home. At Brent’s Place we strive to provide programs for our families that can alleviate some of the stress and trauma from being away from home.

What We Do

In-kind donations (i.e. tangible goods and services) enable Brent’s Place to focus funding and resources towards meeting the housing and supportive programming needs of families. In addition to providing the essentials our families need, in-kind donations can help reduce the emotional and financial burden faced by Brent's Place residents as they seek life-saving medical treatment.

Brent's Place offers meal support opportunities from cooking meals on campus to preparing a meal off-site and delivering it to families at Brent's Place, along with driving meals to our families who have a loved one in-patient at Children's Hospital.

Brent's Place offers off-site opportunities from creating craft kits to assembling prize packs and even refurbishing wagons! This is a great way for volunteers to make an impact on the families living at Brent's Place on their own time!

The very basic need of three well-balanced meals, unfortunately, goes unmet given demanding treatment schedules. The goal of the Brent’s Place Pantry is to increase access to pantry staples to supplement the nutritional needs of the families who are calling Brent’s Place home. We aim for pantry items that are easily and readily available, nutritious, safe-clean, and properly kept by our amazing volunteers; ultimately alleviating the stress and financial strain families’ face as they navigate meals and allowing them to focus on healing.

Virtual programs are a great way for our families and caregivers to escape the stress of treatment and enjoy a game, movie, arts and crafts or other meaningful activity. Providing virtual programming options allows families who might not be able to have contact with others due to the patient's treatment feel safe in participating in the strong community we have at Brent's Place from the comfort of their room!
