Who We Are
Ronald McDonald House Southern New Jersey is one of more than 370 houses in 43 countries and regions across the globe. Each House operates independently. Ronald McDonald House Southern New Jersey has served as a “home-away-from-home,” for more than 28,000 families whose children are being treated at nearby hospitals for critical illnesses or traumatic injuries. It has served families from as close as Southern New Jersey, and as far as all other states and 39 foreign countries. Fortunately, many patients do not require hospitalization; nearly 70% of the children reside in the House with their families while going back and forth to the hospital for treatment during the day.
What We Do
In 1998, the South Jersey House built its home in its current location in the heart of Camden. The four-story brick building includes 25 comfortable bedrooms with private baths, a tranquil garden, convenient kitchen, large dining room, living room with fireplace, TV lounges, laundry rooms, and internet access for parents to keep in touch with other family members and to do research on their child’s condition.
This is a child-focused facility with well-equipped playrooms, a basketball hoop, teen room, video games, and comfortable family spaces, complete with fish tanks and whimsical artwork. The bedrooms each have a unique theme, such as Campbell Soup Vegetable Garden, Nascar, Avengers, Legos and Sports.
