Who We Are

Helping Seniors and Caregivers in Mount Laurel, NJ

The Tender Adult Day Center, the only social day center in Burlington County, has been providing care to persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia since 1977. The center provides a safe, engaging and caring atmosphere for older adults, enabling people with Alzheimer’s disease/dementia and frail seniors to age in place with dignity by providing them with services that foster independence.

The organization's name -- The Tender -- refers to the small boat that ferries passengers from the shore to the waiting ship, a gentle metaphor for the journey of aging. We believe in partnership with the client and family, to provide services that fit their needs and to rediscover what makes them happy.

The Tender strives:

  • To provide older adults an opportunity to get out of the house and receive both mental and social stimulation.
  • To give caregivers a much-needed break in which to work, attend to personal needs, or simply to rest and relax; as well as a place to find hope, support, and community resources.
