You will be given the flags that have flown over the graves of the soldiers at Miramar National Cemetery. They decommission the flag by cutting out the blue section, then the stars are individually cut out and attached to a small card with a description and placed in small zip lock bags.
Honor Flight takes these stars on the flight to Washington DC each time, They give them to Veterans and to the public, giving everyone the opportunity to have a piece of patriotism and an honoring of our Heroes.
It is a great honor to be able to get a part of these flags into the hands of America, to bring remembrance for our fallen and to extend the service of these flags.
