Girls on the Run Greater Oregon (GOTR) is looking for volunteers for their 5K event. This event is a way to celebrate the girls’ limitless potential at the end of their season. Over the course of the season, they have built the stamina and confidence to walk and/or run the 5K. For the girls, completing a 5K serves as a tangible example of achieving a big goal via incremental targets. Each girl runs with a Running Buddy, extending the impact into the community.
Anyone who has been to a Girls on the Run 5K knows that it is unlike any other running event. It is a celebration of and for the girls. Positive energy abounds as the girls dance to warm-up music, get their hair “happied”, and gather with their teammates and running buddies to hold hands as they head to the starting line. As Girls on the Run Greater Oregon continues to grow, so does this dynamic event.
In order to make this event a success, they are looking for running buddies for the girl, as well as general volunteers to help with the course, directing the race, and ensuring the event goes smoothly.
