As part of its programs serving runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth under 21 including teen parents and their babies, Covenant House Florida provides them with religious and spiritual services under our Spiritual Ministry. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for their residents, if they choose, to experience their faith background through spiritual exploration and growth while seeking meaning for their lives. Today, these sessions take place in what is called “chapel”, or spiritual room. The volunteer project will involve cleaning and re0rganizing the spiritual room by: removing some pieces of furniture, disassembling, or breaking apart some of them to dispose them; classifying items and removing others in order to get them cleaned and better organized; bringing in the pieces of furniture that are needed. The project could take more than 1 day if volunteers want to paint the room and/or bring in new elements in order to have a more serene room for individual or group sessions.
