Needs From: Holman Community Connect

Volunteer: Help pack PowerSacks in either Denver (East) or Colfax (MSU Central)

Food for Thought strives to eliminate weekend hunger for children in the Denver Metro Area by providing food PowerSacks for the weekend, because they believe that no child should go hungry. Each PowerSack has 10-15 items, enough to feed a family of four two meals. Each week, hundreds of volunteers help pack and deliver PowerSacks to the schools they serve across Denver.  Because they give every student a PowerSack, many of the barriers that traditionally interfere with distribution are removed. To make sure no PowerSacks go unused, they encourage community tables and food pantries in the schools they serve have access to extra or unwanted items.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Food For Thought! Sign up directly to Pack a Bag at one or all of their packing sites.

*if event occurs during normal work hours then participation in this volunteer event would require the use of PTO*
